Stories of Change

Real Impact, Real Lives

"I came in not knowing anyone. Six weeks later I had a CV, a plan, and for the first time in years, I felt like I was going somewhere."

After two years of unemployment, James joined our career development programme feeling hopeless. Through weekly workshops, mock interviews, and peer support, he rebuilt his confidence and secured a position as a warehouse supervisor within three months of completing the programme.

"The football sessions saved me. I didn't realise how much I needed to just be around other people who understood."

Nathan had been living alone for over a year after a relationship breakdown. Social isolation had taken a serious toll on his mental health. Our weekly Football Catch-Up sessions gave him a reason to become more social, and the friendships he built there became his support network.

"I learned to use a computer properly for the first time at 62. Now I help my grandkids with their homework."

Having never used a computer beyond basic phone browsing, Ahmed enrolled in our digital skills programme. Over eight weeks, he learned email, word processing, and online job applications — and found a new source of pride in being able to support his grandchildren's learning.
